Principal Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Toronto team. The incumbent will play a key role in driving innovation, architectural design, and technical excellence across our product development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the liaison between Toronto design office and prototype/production supplier based in South China, mainly Shenzhen-Dongguan area
• Familiarize with product offering, functions and features, product development cycle, production/assembly process, and logistics operation
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and product managers
• Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact, and proposing architectural advancements
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to keep Mani Wonders at the forefront of technology
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and technical excellence across the engineering organization
• Collaborate with the executive team and contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap of the company
• Work closely with product managers to align technical initiatives with product goals and business objectives
• Identify technical challenges and propose solutions to enhance product quality, performance, and user experience
• Provide technical insights and recommendations to influence the product roadmap and guide technology investments
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and technical excellence
• Conduct technical training sessions, knowledge sharing, and code reviews to ensure the development of high-quality software
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to recruit top talent, assess technical skills, and contribute to the hiring process
• Create and maintain a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and cross-team collaboration
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, to provide technical updates and recommendations
• Participate in architectural discussions and provide insights and recommendations to drive effective decision-making
• Foster a culture of transparency and open communication, promoting cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
• Proven experience as a Principal Engineer or a similar technical leadership role within a technology-driven organization
• Strong software engineering background with expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks
• Demonstrated experience in architectural design, system development, and software scalability
• Strong knowledge of software development best practices, including code reviews, testing methodologies, and continuous integration
• Experience with Agile methodologies and ability to drive and manage complex software development projects
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and solve complex technical challenges
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders/li>
