Program Manager

We are seeking a Program Manager to join our Shenzhen team. The incumbent will play a key role in managing the production supply chain.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaison between Toronto design office and prototype/production supplier based in South China, mainly Shenzhen-Dongguan area
  • Familiarize with product offering, functions and features, product development cycle, production/assembly process, and logistics operation
  • Participate in factory audits: visit and meet potential vendors to understand and assess first hand their operation, capability, and reliability before providing feedback to Toronto office
  • Play a key role in establishing relationship with select suppliers and assist in developing common understanding of business and operational agreement between all parties
  • Engage in the product prototyping and development cycle by reviewing engineering drawings and specifications with the Toronto design office and relaying information to the respective manufacturing party. Frequent site visits will be required to communicate design revisions, ideas, and feedback while capturing photo and video to share with Toronto office
  • Involvement in the preparation, implementation, and continuous improvement of volume production and quality control practices through conveying requirements provided by the Toronto office with the vendor production and engineering department
  • Regular site visits to review and audit the production/assembly processes to ensure operational and quality control practices put in place are executed
  • Testing and verification of supplier components and finish goods with complete final inspection report before arranging delivery
  • Review product returns and exchanges through triage form reports and provide detailed feedback to Toronto office to identify common issues

 

Requirements:

  • A versatile individual with a can-do attitude who is organized and entrepreneurial spirited
  • Working fluency in English and Mandarin
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Prior experience in project management in a production setting
  • Adept at quality control best practices and ability to oversee assembly and inspection team
  • Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Can-do attitude, self-driven and proactive, with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Reliable, independent and able to work flexible hours with minimal supervision or direction
  • Strong attention to detail
